A Turning Point

  The US became much more prosperous after WWII. After America had helped win the war, the countries that fell had to pay off debts, which helped a little, and since no one was enemies except America and Russia afterwards, the trade routes opened back up again, mainly with Japan.

  With the war over, many nations all over the world were eager to make peace and encourage global cooperation. This lead to the establishment of the United Nations.

  With all the trade routes opening up, teamwork among the nations, and debts being payed back to America, the U.S. soon became the richest, most powerful nation in the world.

As more and more men were needed to fight in the war, women began joining the workforce as well as the military. The war had upped their role in society.

The war brought America out of the Great Depression by stimulating industrial productivity. As the war effort grew, an increased demand for munitions created job factory openings, which greatly reduced the rate of unemployment. Moreover, as the economy began to rise due to the drop in unemployment, prices of goods began to slightly inflate, as regulated by the Office of Price Administration. Additionally, farms ceased to foreclose and began to produce more food. By the end of the war, the national productivity increased to approximately two hundred billion dollars as businesses continued to flourish and wages increased. Finally, the atomic research programs created more jobs, specifically in scientific research. It may be said that the United States was victorious in World War 2 because it was able to outproduce the enemy.

After years of serving in the war without intimacy, the soldiers came home to many beautiful women, some of which they were married to. In all that excitement,  naturally the population began to increase greatly.
